Online Course Proctoring
Teaching & Learning Services provides proctoring services for online students who must take proctored exams. These services include:
- Scheduling and administering proctored exam sessions at The Wallace Center
- Securely distributing exams to remote students
- Qualifying local proctors for remote students
Proctored sessions for tests and quizzes at The Wallace Center are from 6:00PM to 7:00PM and 7:30PM to 9:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Midterm and final exams are scheduled from 7:00PM to 10:00PM Monday through Friday.
Note that proctoring sessions at The Wallace Center are for fully online courses only!

Online students who are eligible for testing accommodation should contact the Disability Services Office at 585-475-5538.
Teaching & Learning Services will deliver proctored tests and exams to your online students.
To arrange proctoring for an online course, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org by Week 2 of the quarter with this information:
- The course name and number
- The full course exam schedule
- The date range each exam will be available, including final due dates
- The time limit of each exam
- Any specific exam rules---open book, open notes, calculator use, etc.
- If there any delivery method (hard copy, fax, or email) that you do not want used when sending exams to external proctors.
You will receive a confirmation email within two days of sending your request.
You can log into the Exam Scheduling System at online.rit.edu/exams/faculty with your RIT Computer Account and Password. From here, you can see:
- All of your scheduled exams
- Which students have turned in exams

Online students that live within 30 miles of the RIT campus must take proctored exams at The Wallace Center. Proctored exam sessions at The Wallace Center are scheduled from 6:00PM to 7:00PM and 7:30PM to 9:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
To register for an exam, go to the Exam Scheduling System at online.rit.edu/exams/. You’ll need your RIT Computer Account username and password.
You will receive a registration confirmation email within one business day.
Students who must cancel or reschedule an exam should go to the Exam Scheduling System at online.rit.edu/exams/. You must cancel your current reservation before you can schedule another time.
If you are going to miss the exam deadline, you must contact your instructor. Instructors must contact firstname.lastname@example.org to give permission for you to take an exam after the deadline.
If The Wallace Center must cancel an exam session due to bad weather or another reason, the Help Desk at The Wallace Center will be informed by 4:00PM. You can call the Help Desk at 585-475-2551 after 4:00PM to confirm your session.

For Remote Students:
If you live further than 30 miles from the RIT campus, you must arrange for a local proctor. All proctor applications must be reviewed and approved before we can send an exam, so you should send in the proctor application as early in the quarter as possible.
Remote students who have a local proctor on file from a previous quarter do not have to reapply unless your relationship with that proctor has changed. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions.
Remote students can attend proctored exam sessions at The Wallace Center if they choose by registering at online.rit.edu/exams/.
