Learning goals and objectives are where the real work of teaching is accomplished. Meaningful and measurable learning goals are tied to student success. When course goals aren't linked to the desired outcomes, then student success is greatly compromised. Learn how to target your teaching and make an impact on student learning by designing specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and timely goals before you assign that reading, assignment, project, or test. Discover what makes a SMART teaching goal and how to revise any goals that don't make the grade. Finally, this seminar will demonstrate how to purposely cater appropriate materials, activities, assignments, and assessments to best promote the achievement of your set goals.


Upon completion of this seminar, you’ll be able to:

  • Identify the "levels of learning" your course requires
  • Classify and refine the course outcomes/goals/objectives in your own program, course, or unit
