Copyright and accessibility are both complicated issues that require careful attention to detail. As content creators, we want to make sure that we are not restricting access based on ability or technical concerns; are encouraging the highest participation with our content; and are abiding by the law. Particularly in the field of DHSS, in which scholars and students alike publish digital materials, it is important to consider issues of access and legal usage of materials.

Intended as a primer to broad-level issues, this workshop with RIT Libraries’ DHSS and Liberal Arts librarians will introduce attendees to guidelines, laws, and vital resources for both accessibility and copyright as they relate to the publication of digital projects. The session will also include a discussion on utilizing or sharing student work and the copyright concerns that may arise.
