The goal of this session is for faculty to develop a better understanding of the workings of the faculty senate at RIT,  gain a better understanding of how faculty can get involved, and understand the benefits of being involved in academic governance.

Examples of topics that will be discussed include:

  • Who can submit a charge to the senate?  When and how does one do that?
  • Can anyone attend a senate meeting?  What should I expect if I attend? 
  • How and when can guests speak?
  • In what ways can I support my college senators and ensure my voice is being heard?
  • What are the benefits of serving on the senate.
